It was announced earlier this year that there will be some changes to the L-1B visa program.
The L-1B visa program allows a U.S. employer to transfer a professional employee with specialized knowledge from a foreign office to a U.S. office.
It allows a foreign company that does not have an established U.S. office to send a specialized knowledge employee to the United States to help establish a U.S. office.
A memorandum will go into effect on August 31, 2015 to provide guidance to adjudicators issuing the visas, specifically for how applicants show that they have specialized knowledge in a particular field.
